ORGANISATION
Gizagune. Physical and cognitive stimulation for adults.
CHALLENGE
Gizagune want to address two challenges: to increase awareness of the Centre in the neighbourhood where it is located and its surroundings (the Lapize neighbourhood has the highest number of elderly people in Irun); to provide training to professional caregivers, especially assistants and staff who have to work everyday with the elderly (many of which suffer from dementia).
IMPROBABLE COLLABORATOR
Mikel Morlas. With a multidisciplinary academic background (human resource management, art and education) and experience in various groups in the field of artistic practices, he combines the development of innovative educational projects and training in public and private organisations with his activity as an artist and curator.
PROPOSAL
To confront the initial challenge and attempt to identify other possible avenues of intervention in the organisation, the symbolic dimensions of dependence in the elderly will be analysed, a complex layer of reality that is crucial when it comes to working on improving the quality of life of people affected by this condition.
