Fast45

European Project

The FAST45 project (Future Art School Trends 2045) has been selected in the 2020 call of Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances. Conexiones improbables will participate alongside ten European organisations in this three-year project (2021-2023), which aims to imagine future scenarios for European art schools with a view to 2045 and within a context that is expected to be radically different from today’s because of the impact of climate change, globalisation or a fourth industrial revolution.

PARTNER ENTITIES

FAST45 is a project promoted by eleven organisations from eight European countries, among which are six institutions of higher art education, such as LUCA School of Arts (Brussels), EKA (Tallinn), Uniarts (Helsinki), CEFEDEM Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (Lyon), Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf (Potsdam) and TU Dublin (Dublin), as well as the companies Xenorama GbR (Potsdam), Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Dublin) and C2+i/ Conexiones improbables (Vitoria-Gasteiz), in addition to the European networks AEC (Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen ) and ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts).

WHAT IS IT?

A European partnership of knowledge that will hybridise the fields of education, the cultural and creative industries and enterprise in order to support higher education art schools in examining and rethinking their curricula and educational methodologies. It will do this from a trans-sectoral and experimental perspective to explore futures through research, participation, innovation and creativity. The initiative aims to contribute to putting into practice tools, partnerships and guidelines for public policies that will allow not only to anticipate but also to actively shape an unknown future.

Some of the initiatives that will be implemented include:

  • Analysis and exploration of existing research in the field of higher education in the arts and the employability of artists.
  • Organisation of laboratories for prototyping alternative futures for arts schools.
  • Presentation of future scenarios for higher education art schools that can contribute to long-term planning and decision-making.
