Conexiones improbables worked with the Mancomunidad of Urola Kosta because the latter wanted to promote a programme that could help identify the reality and potential of the cultural and creative sectors in the county. Its aim was to professionalise and exploit the scope of the cultural and creative industries of Urola Kosta by boosting economic activity and creating quality jobs. It also wanted to explore the capacity this sector has in impacting other strategic economic sectors in the area.
The Mancomunidad intended to focus more clearly on key policies and actions to boost the sector by making them more realistic as regards existing and future resources and ensuring they were adequately connected to the county’s overall development policy.
The project was developed over 5 sessions. Two of the sessions were held with the Steering Group, comprising people who were selected for their ability to propel, contribute to and analyse the state of the cultural and creative sectors of Urola Kosta. The sessions included members of the Mancomunidad team of technical officers and private sector professionals from the cultural and creative industries.
Two further sessions were held with a Large Multidisciplinary Group that included a large number of cultural and creative agents in the county.
And a final session took place on 15 June to present the results.
