ORGANISATION

The Bizkaia Mental Health Network (RSMB) is part of the Basque Health Service (Osakidetza) and provides health care services in hospitals (Bermeo, Zaldibar and Zamudio) and communities (mental health centres, day hospitals, etc.) in coordination with other health, social and socio-sanitary organisations and in collaboration with user and family associations.

Alex Carrascosa. Visual artist, researcher, designer and driving force of citizen participation workshop-laboratories, of resilience and symbolic reparation for victims and intercultural dialogue throughout Europe and Latin America. Author of the book Dia • Tekhnē.

CHALLENGE
The Bizkaia Mental Health Network (RSMB) wanted to bring an about-face to the care model of the patient (passive) as opposed to the person (active), based on the full conviction of the healthcare team.

RESULTS

• Some dialogues through art to consolidate “creActively” between everybody a relational framework aimed at RSMB staff in an interdisciplinary manneR.
• The construction of a “map of the natural and social world, a picture of it and of each person’s place in it” (Erich Fromm).
• Tthe design of actions and/or devices to respond to the questions raised in the process.
