The first edition of Irun Open Innovation, an event promoted by the Irun City Council and organised by c2+i/Conexiones improbables, was held on 3 December 2015.
The event was inaugurated by the Mayor of Irun, José Antonio Santano, at 9am and the day focused on 3 panels: Open Innovation Aimed at Clients/Users, Arts and Culture for Open Innovation, and Limits and Opportunities for Open Innovation in Organisations.
The first panel comprised Javier Creus, Director of Ideas for Change (Barcelona); Xabier Gorritxategi, Director of the Euskadi Home Cluster (ACEDE) and Coordinator of Living Lab H-Enea (Mondragón); and Javier González Vega, Marketing and Purchasing Manager at Manufacturas Gobe (Irun). The panel was chaired by Eva Fernández Tolosa, from the Irun City Council.
The second panel commenced with a lively talk on innovation as promoted by arts and culture from the artist and consultant Ania Bas (London). She was followed by Sandra Boer, Director of Art Partner (Amsterdam), and Laura Iturria, Managing Director of Iturria Industrial (Irun), together with Carlos Arruti, Partner-Director of Maushaus (Donostia/San Sebastián), who had collaborated as a creator on a project with the Gipuzkoa company. The panel was chaired by Arantxa Mendiharat, Coordinator of Conexiones improbables.
After lunch, there was a roundtable discussion on the Limits and Opportunities for Open Innovation in Organisations with Marisa Arriola, Managing Director of BIC Gipuzkoa; Juan Freire, Partner-Director of Team Labs; Pía Areblad, Enterprise Manager of Ale Town Council (Sweden); and David Sánchez Bote, Director of Research at the Faculty of Business MU-MIK.
The crowning moment of the one-day conference was a presentation by Ana María Llopis, Founder and CEO of ideas4all and Non-Executive Chairwoman of the DIA Group. Her Conference: "Open Innovation for a Changing World".
Drawing the event to a close was Miguel Ángel Paéz Escamendi, Treasury, Economic Advancement and Strategic Planning Delegate of the Irun City Council.
