ORGANISATION
Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Olot, It is the only official school of art and design in Girona (province) and it hosts more than 400 students. L’Escola d’Art d’Olot also wants to maintain an active role in their social, educational, economic and cultural environment.
CHALLENGE
To establish links between the School, its neighborhood (old town) and the city (Olot) to enhance the perception of both the School and the neighborhood from the whole city.
IMPROBABLE COLLABORATOR
Tomas Aragay. Co-founder of the theatre group General Electric. Since 2000, he has been co-director of Societat Doctor Alonso, combining various genres, scenic forms and types of people, resulting in its own way of inhabiting the stage to create a shift in viewer perception. Since 2001, he has been the Artistic Director of the Celula Collective and MAPA festival. Screenwriter of such films as Nico and Dani, In the City, Fiction or Blog, with which he was nominated for best screenplay in the Goya Awards 2000 and 2002. Since 2002, he has been a script teacher at ESCAC (Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia).

PROPOSAL
Thomas Aragay aims to share the experience gained over eight years in the management and implementation of MAPA Festival in Pontós, an experience that developed multiple strategies to introduce "contemporary art", it benefits and capabilities, into civil society.
RESULTS
The artist will work with a team consisting in a group of students (6) and the teacher of an elective 4th grade Design course who is working on the same subject. The contacts already made by this team with the city's inhabitants will be also used, and new connections will be created for the project.
