ORGANISATION
Orona Ideo is a series of entities/spaces/activities created in 2013 as an ecosystem around the original company, Orona.
CHALLENGE
The various entities (Orona Fundazioa, Universidad, A3 Research and Orona Zero) are seeking, on the one hand, to strengthen their ties and relationships with each other and, secondly, to develop relationships with their surrounding geographical area (Bidasoaladea, Oarsoaldea and Donostialdea), both with the aim of strengthening the Foundation’s mission of serving society and making this recently created space lively and open to its surroundings. This is why they are seeking to devise activities to be conducted in a specific space of the Orona Fundazioa, the library, and that can achieve the two aforementioned objectives.
IMPROBABLE COLLABORATOR
Alberto Flores (Flou Flou) Disoñadores Asociados is a design studio that was set up in Valencia in 2007 by the designers Alberto Flores and Mireia Juan. Their work focuses on developing and applying design thought, tools and projects always from a multidisciplinary approach and tackling concepts like habitat, environmental responsibility, collective intelligence, co-creation, participation, reconfiguration and open design.
PROPOSAL
Alberto Flores has proposed work on exploring and activating the Foundation’s own resources that are made available to the citizens and territory. Internal-external, same-different and public-private are diminished within hybrid contexts in favour of creating symbiotic situations or dynamics. His goal will be to make collective creation and shared technology the protagonists and for all parties to feel recognised, represented and qualified.
RESULT
Work was done with the aim of identifying how Orona Ideo is related to its closest ecosystem. They therefore worked on a pilot experience focusing on the issue of plastic in the sea: how to find solutions and how to activate plans of action. One result of this workshop was to discover the need to add sustainability to the company’s technological culture.
Another proposal was how the knowledge contained in the factory could be placed at the service of society and interact with local agents.
The possibility of introducing the dynamics of intermingling humanists and technologists in the Master’s offered by Orona was also assesse.
